In becoming a rare freshman MVP, Allen averaged 17.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
Allen's sophomore performance, by comparison, makes those marks look paltry.

Entering Friday's Region VI semifinals, Allen is No. 3 on Hutchinson's singles-season scoring list with 826 points. His 26.6 point scoring average is second best in HCC history. Allen also ranks sixth in single-season assists (183) and is just out of the single-season Top 10 for steals with 70. Allen already holds the single-season record for free throws made with 268.
Allen has had four games of 10 or more assists this season.
Allen is the third-leading career scoring in Blue Dragon history with 1,397 points. Allen is No. 2 in career assists (313), No. 2 in career steals (151), third in career scoring average with 451 points and is the career leader in made free throws (428).
Allen was a nine-time Jayhawk Conference Division I men's Player of the Week and a two-time NJCAA Division I Men's Player of the Week.
Allen joins Joe Mitchell, Darius Johnson-Odom, Bobby Maize and Brandon Gary has recent Blue Dragon conference MVPs.
Allen will play next season at the University of Arizona.

For the season, DeBerry is averaging 12.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. He is shooting a Jayhawk Conference-best 69.1 percent from the field, which ranks No. 4 in the NJCAA.
DeBerry has seven career double-doubles, all coming with the Blue Dragons.
