Seck chooses South Dakota

Cameron Seck committed to South Dakota while in Vermillion on Sunday. ()

For Paola (KS) offensive lineman Cam Seck, his commitment to South Dakota came down to one thing.

“USD felt right from the first day I stepped foot on campus,” Seck said of his visit. “I’m excited to be a Yote.”

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive guard was on campus last Sunday in Vermillion. After picking up an offer from the Coyotes, Seck chose USD over interest from Kansas and Missouri State.

“I went to Junior Day and just had a good feeling,” he said of his visit. “Plus, all the new facilities are amazing. I knew I wanted to get out of the Kansas City area. All the coaches there are new, and all great guys. I could tell from day one it was the right fit for me.”

Seck was an Honorable Mention All-Frontier League selection in 2015, after helping pave the way for the Panthers to a 10-2 record and a league championship. With his commitment to the Yotes already in the book, the big guard is already turning his attention to trying to recruit other players from Kansas and the Kansas City area to South Dakota.

“I know (Ottawa OL Drew) Bones and (Colin) Grunhard both have offers from USD,” Seck said of his two fellow Kansas linemen. “He (Grunhard) has got all the skills to play at a big college level. I’ve got a lot of respect for him. it would be an honor to play with both of those guys up there.”
