HCC'S PATRICK NAMED JAYHAWK CONFERENCE WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore Jamie Patrick became the first Hutchinson Community College women's basketball player this season to earn Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday.

Patrick earned the league's Division I award - the third time in her career to week a weekly league honor - with a stellar performance in two games played in Arizona over the holiday break.
Patrick posted her third double-double of the season and fifth of her career in a 65-46 victory over Division II-No. 9 Mesa on Friday. Against Scottsdale on Thursday, Patrick moved into the career Top 25 in scoring in Lady Dragon history, becoming the 26th Lady Dragon to reach 700 career points.
For the week, Patrick averaged 24.0 points while shooting 58.6 percent from the field, including 7 of 14 from 3-point range. She also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals. Against Mesa, Patrick tallied a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Against Scottsdale, she had 25 points hitting four 3-pointers.
Patrick is now eligible for NJCAA National Player of the Week honors. That winner will be announced on Wednesday.
