Morss late FG earns North state title berth
By Tod Palmer, The Olathe News:
The situation was eerily similar to last season. Olathe North kicker Jared Morss, who minutes earlier had missed a critical extra point, lined up a field goal with fewer than 15 seconds remaining Friday against Blue Valley.

In a nearly identical situation during the district opener 13 months ago, Morss had missed a 19-yard chip shot and the Eagles lost 42-41.
Of course, that defeat wound up meaning little as North still rallied to reach the playoffs.
There was plenty more at stake in the Kansas 6A sub-state playoffs on the Tigers' home turf, where the Eagles' entire season came down to a 33-yard field goal try by Morss.
Hit it and North, which trailed 14-13 at the time, stays unbeaten and marches on to the state title game.
