The 6-foot-2 forward from Hamilton, New Zealand posted her eighth double-double of the season and it came at a crucial time as the No. 3 Lady Dragons needed it to defeat No. 9 Seward County 81-71 last Saturday in HCC's only action of the week.
Purcell had 22 points and 16 rebounds to pace the Lady Dragons in the come-from-behind victory. Purcell added six assists, three steals and two blocked shots as HCC ran their winning streak to 23 straight games and it was Purcell's second-straight double-double.
On Monday at Garden City, Purcell made it three consecutive double-doubles in HCC's 68-55 victory, but that game didn't count toward this weekly honor.
Purcell was also named conference player of the week on Jan. 15.
Purcell is now eligible to for NJCAA national player of the week honors. That will be announced on Wednesday.
