Derby grad KCAC VB POW

Wichita, Kan - Player and Hitter of the Week honors go to Crystal Taporco (Junior, Derby, Kan.) of Friends. Adriana Gonzalez (Senior, Tatum, Texas) wins Setter of the week for the second consecutive week. Amy Jo Maphet (Sophomore, Pratt, Kan.) of Tabor earns Libero of the Week.
Taporco, a 6-0, Middle Hitter for the Falcons recorded a 0.540 attack percentage and averaged 1.32 blocks/set in six matches this week. Taporco totaled 77 kills in 124 attempts. During the 22-game stretch she had 40 blocks, 11 solo. Her match of the week came against SAGU (Texas) where she recorded 18 kills in 28 attempts, and 10 blocks in a 3-0 Friends sweep.

Gonzalez earns her second consecutive Setter of the Week award by tallying 52 assists in a 3-1 Sterling victory over Saint Mary. Gonzalez also accounted for 14 digs, two blocks, and two kills.
Maphet totaled 32 digs in four sets against Friends the week. She recorded a 1.000 service percentage and 0.923 reception percentage in the losing effort.
