With back-to-back 20-point games and a double-double in the desert, Hutchinson Community College sophomore women's basketball player Jamie Patrick was named the NJCAA Division I Player of the Week, the national office announced on Wednesday.
In games against Scottsdale and Mesa last week, Patrick added to a growing string of stellar performances for her since late November.
Last week, the Hutchinson Central Christian product averaged 24.0 points while shooting 58.6 percent from the field, including 7 of 14 from 3-point range. She also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals. Against Mesa, Patrick tallied a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Against Scottsdale, she had 25 points hitting four 3-pointers.
Patrick posted her third double-double of the season and fifth of her career in a 65-46 victory over Division II-No. 9 Mesa on Friday. Against Scottsdale on Thursday, Patrick moved into the career Top 25 in scoring in Lady Dragon history, becoming the 26th Lady Dragon to reach 700 career points. Patrick is now No. 19 with 737 career points.
Over her last six games, Patrick is averaging 24.6 points per game with a career-best 38 points against Northwest Kansas Tech on Nov. 30. She is shooting 65.5 percent overall over that span and has connected on 17 of 34 3-point attempts.
